COVID-19 Update

16/12/2021

Dear Family,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your patience and co-operation as we aim to safely manage and direct you all with regards to the visiting policy at present.

As guidance is continually changing, we are working tirelessly to put in place a fair and safe structure in order for you to be able to have visits with your loved ones.

Secondly the enquiries that have been emailed to us have been noted and a meeting has taken place to ascertain what the steps will be, effective immediately to facilitate in home and outdoor visits safely.

I hope to answer some of your queries below nevertheless all mentioned is subject to change as we await on further Government Guidance, as you can appreciate paramount is the safety of residents, staff and all visitors.

  • Only three nominated visitors can be appointed per resident. This will need to be sent to activities@clairleighnursinghome.co.uk please copy in info@clairleighnursinghome.co.uk.
  • One person as an essential care giver to be confirmed for those who have essential care givers in place already, again please confirm this in an email.
  • Emails sent to activities@clairleighnursinghome.co.uk and info@clairleighnursinghome.co.uk copied in will be acceptable should the telephone line be engaged on Saturdays (please note that we do have three separate phone lines). Once you have sent your requested visiting date and time a member of staff will be in touch with you to confirm a suitable time for your next visit.
  • A maximum of three visits will be permitted per week per resident, visits will NOT be permitted to be carried forward to the following week; a-in order for each nominated visitor to have a visit; b- to allow for all residents to have at least one visit per week by the 3 nominated visitors.
  • Emails will also be acceptable if you wish to cancel your visit for whatever reason; please inform us of any cancellations as early as possible so that someone else can be allocated the slot.
  • You will be able to request to book a future visit when you are leaving a visit that has just taken place, please do this at reception once you have signed out.
  • Essential care giver visits already booked for this week as mentioned above will need to be designated to one named essential care giver only and you MUST do a PCR test on site weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays which will be registered to the Home and we will receive your result (LFD TEST IS ONGOING FOR ALL VISITORS TO THE HOME). This is to be done in the porch prior to your visit, full instructions of how to register your test will be provided. All PCR tests must be with us by 15:00 at the very latest, an additional consent box for PCR will be added to the form on your visit.
  • Regarding Christmas we advise that you space out your three visits over the festive season as three visits per resident in one day will not be practical. As you can imagine infection control will be compromised if that were the case.
  • For the safety of the residents Christmas Outings will be risk assessed (and can be refused) a 14-day isolation period will be implemented per resident. It is most likely that they will be in contact with people outside of their three nominated visitors hence possible cross contamination is a factor.
  • All Essential care giver visits will be up to a maximum of one hour per day.

Please be rest assured that all staff and residents continue to be tested weekly, monthly and or if they have flu like symptoms as good practise and along with Public health Guidelines.

I am happy to inform you that a selection of activities is in place over the next week for all to enjoy such as a Christmas photo shoot after a visit to the hairdresser so no excuse to not be glamorous! A non-denominational carol service, Christmas movie marathon with mince pies, resident Christmas party with entertainer, a staff vs resident Christmas quiz and saving the best till last a Christmas carol to our dear residents (ear plugs provided) along with a live zoom ink for you all to enjoy!

The activities team will email you a copy of the calendar for your reference.

All that is left for me to say is a big thank you once again as you support us in taking care of your invaluable family members.

As always please do not hesitate to contact me or the team if you have any further questions.

Kind Regards,

Sharone Buchanan
